Report on Technology in Corrections Conference 2024

The world leading prison authorities’ organisation, the International Corrections and Prisons Association (ICPA), held a conference together with Europris in Istanbul from 21-24th April 2024. It was hosted by Turkey’s Directorate of Prisons.

The theme of the conference was “Digital Rehabilitation” to serve as a pivotal platform to foster dialogue, innovation, and collaboration in leveraging technology for the advancement of corrections services worldwide.

Three hundred and sixty people attended from all over the world, most significantly from Europe. They included prison bureaucrats, digital developers, researchers, NGOs and representatives from multinational corporations.

A CJC representative joined them to understand what recent developments had occurred and the implications that would have for the Computers in Cells campaign.
